Equality and Diversity

Across Havering, there are residents with a multitude of different backgrounds, experiences. Unfortunately, not everyone's experiences are equal. There are many different forms of discrimination affecting people's lives and this can be on the basis of their age, disability, gender, ethnic group or race, sexual orientation or religious choice or belief.

Homes in Havering is working to recognise and act upon this. We are committed to making sure that all our residents have equal access to our services on the basis of their need. We will promote services in a way that is appropriate, relevant and sensitive, whatever our residents' background.

We recognise that institutional discrimination exists and we will take steps to eradicate this from our organisation. We will take positive action where necessary to realise our equality, diversity and inclusion policy.

We will work with our staff, Havering Council, our partners and agencies to ensure that equalities, diversity and inclusion are reflected in our workplace, and is always at the heart of our service to residents.
