Community Housing Groups (CHGs)

A Community Housing Group is a group of people living on an estate, in a block of flats or in a defined area who get together to do something about the homes and the area they live in, and the services provided.

What do CHGs do?
CHGs gives residents a better say in how things are run and a way of working together to find solutions to problems affecting their estate or area. These can include issues such as getting repairs done to giving young people something to do.

A CHG promotes community spirit and equal opportunities because anyone can be a member. Homes in Havering acknowledge the views of CHG members and work with them to ensure the needs of their community are being addressed.
